February 9, 201511 yr Hello all, I need to re-gasket an EJ22 from a '95 Legacy wagon (it's going in an '87 GL). Are there any reputable suppliers from which to purchase an engine gasket kit for the engine, or should I definitely go with genuine Subaru parts? I'm going to be driving this car long distances at speed, so although I'd rather not spend $300 on the set, I'd rather do that than have an on-road failure in Alaska next winter. Thanks, Ben

February 10, 201511 yr Reliable or cheap, choose one. If you can't stand to have a failure because you cheaped out, then don't cheap out. The Subaru OEM gasket sets have had revisions and are what the dealers use to keep their customers happy with their car, whereas an aftermarket set may be the original spec made by the lowest bidder. February 10, 201511 yr Felpro makes the 2.2 head gaskets for Subaru and their valve cover gaskets are good quality as well. Felpro intake manifold gaskets are fine, but I use Subaru exhaust gaskets. Any other o-rings and seals, I prefer to use dealer parts.
