Fuel temp sensor 2.2l

Featured Replies

I have swapped an ej22 from a 97 OBS into an 81 GL wagon. I swapped over entire wire set up, bumper to bumper. I had to use an in-line fuel pump. So all in fuel tank components are gone, including the fuel temp sensor. Wiring has always been a pain for me, but so far so good.

So I have two cel codes; 183 and 463. For the fuel guage and fuel temp sensor. I have yet to hook up the fuel guage. I am trying to figure out how to work around the temp sensor. If anyone has come across this or has any simple ideas PLEASE HELP.

Okay, found the fuel pump assembly from donor car. My plan is to wire up the fuel temp sensor without submerging it in the tank and see what happens. I'm also

wiring in the fuel gauge from the 81 GL. Fingers crossed!

Neither code will cause driving issues.

I left mine unhooked

No probs for 20k miles plus

Thanks, this is my first swap. Plus I am doing it a little different than what I've studied up on here.

It's alive!!!!

Turned over for about 2sec then fired up like nobodies buisness. After sitting for a little over 3 years. ;)

I don't have the rad fan hooked up yet, so I only ran it for about a min. Did a little happy dance, then started looking over engine bay for obvious leaks/what not.

Found a loose power steering hose, and puddle. Fixed it the next day. In the process found a leak on passenger cam seal/support. Tourqued those two bolts back to spec.

Gonna button this back up and try running it longer and install fan in next couple days. :)  :)

Then maybe the finish line will be visible!?.......

Fan is in. Got a 7" fan of amazon that pushes enough cfm to contend with original obs rad fan. Also got the og glove box light to work off '97 obs wire harness. Woooohoooo! Just a few things to finish before road test.
