  1. If you still got? I need drivers door mirror. I'll send message.
  2. That is exactly what I'm curious to know! I have swapped a '97 obs 2.2L and it's entire wire harness into '81 GL wagon. Has taken far longer than imagined and isn't a daily driver yet, but almost across the finish. I sure hope that you finish that sexy beast. Then take it out on a scenic tour, getting many advertising worthy photos. Then you could share a select few with all us here.🤩
  3. It was actually a combo of problems. First: connector B12 was not even plugged in, like I convinced my self many times "Of course that's in, how could I forget that?" Well I did forget, even had tucked one end up behind the rest at the firewall. Second: the brain, ECU, was coming out of a 2yr. coma and spitting out all kinds of CELs. Third: Wore down batt. narrowing causes for no start. The odd fans and fuel pump timing was result of batt. Charge being lower than multimeter was saying and poor grounding. My mm was getting like 30-40 ohms when checking grounds. Plus parking lights no work either switch. All other lights wrk, turn, brake, reverse and headlights. All of the chassis grounds were garbage. Welded on some stainless bolts, in appropriate locations. Added extra ground cable from battery to strut tower. All new gnd locals tested <5ohm. Still hunting down park lights no wrk issue, but cars starts easily now.
  4. I'm having same fans/fuel pump running with key off issue. Freaking been going nuts for a couple days trying to figure it out after a 5sp swap. I see it has turned out to be your main engine harness. I wish that I would have looked here to start. Would have saved a lot of frustration and disappointment. Almost went postal on this poor beast. Was beginning to think it was some sort of cosmic joke, the way things have went lately. Thank goodness for the USMB community and the willingness of it's members to continue being great human beings.
  5. Fan is in. Got a 7" fan of amazon that pushes enough cfm to contend with original obs rad fan. Also got the og glove box light to work off '97 obs wire harness. Woooohoooo! Just a few things to finish before road test.
  6. It's alive!!!! Turned over for about 2sec then fired up like nobodies buisness. After sitting for a little over 3 years. I don't have the rad fan hooked up yet, so I only ran it for about a min. Did a little happy dance, then started looking over engine bay for obvious leaks/what not. Found a loose power steering hose, and puddle. Fixed it the next day. In the process found a leak on passenger cam seal/support. Tourqued those two bolts back to spec. Gonna button this back up and try running it longer and install fan in next couple days. Then maybe the finish line will be visible!?.......
  7. Thanks, this is my first swap. Plus I am doing it a little different than what I've studied up on here.
  8. Okay, found the fuel pump assembly from donor car. My plan is to wire up the fuel temp sensor without submerging it in the tank and see what happens. I'm also wiring in the fuel gauge from the 81 GL. Fingers crossed!
  9. I have swapped an ej22 from a 97 OBS into an 81 GL wagon. I swapped over entire wire set up, bumper to bumper. I had to use an in-line fuel pump. So all in fuel tank components are gone, including the fuel temp sensor. Wiring has always been a pain for me, but so far so good. So I have two cel codes; 183 and 463. For the fuel guage and fuel temp sensor. I have yet to hook up the fuel guage. I am trying to figure out how to work around the temp sensor. If anyone has come across this or has any simple ideas PLEASE HELP.
  10. I would like to see that diagram. I have an 81 GL that I put a 97 OBS 2.2L in. Now I am trying to iron out wiring issues. It has a factory passing light setup, but I have used the entire 97 wiring and have to wire light independantly. Alas I am not electrically inclined. So if you can post the diagram or PM it to me Crazyeights, that would be so very awesome. I will PM Crazyeights or Gloyale in a couple days if I don't see anything here.
  11. Here are some before pics! http://s883.photobucket.com/albums/ac36/hippyloc/Before%20EJ22%20Swap/ As you can see the rear valance on my 81' is shot! So luckily enough I have body parts still useable from my 82'. More pics to come. Especially as I begin making progress!!!
  12. I found a 97' OBS w/ a N/A EJ22. Picked up an adapter plate from SJR and am in the process of clearing out the shop. I am totally stoked about getting this EJ in my 81'. I haven't been able to find anything about it, but I want to try to use as much of the OBS wiring, interior on my 81'. I know that most all of the EJ swaps I have read about are OBDI's, but I am going to try to get as much of this OBDII in. Still have to get my totalled 82' GL out of the way before I can really get into it. Speaking of. . . I have an ad for parts, if anyone is interested. I am no tech, and don't have any welding experience, but I am going to dive in head first! If there are any suggestions or comments, please let me know. Hopefully I will document enough of this project for future interest.
  13. I am unable to PM, so I figured you would get this. I have an 81' cluster that I will part with. It is still in the vehicle currently, could have it out in an afternoon.

  14. Ya, got it last friday. You should be getting parts by monday or soon after. Thanks again for getting those!
