So I occasionally select 4WD on the GL Wagon to ensure everything is still sweet. However, after putting in a few months ago it was impossible to get back out.

 

Figured it was just a matter of relieving the pressure (on a hill, off road, driveshaft angle etc) but couldn't get it out without lifting it and even then it was tight (had a second hand in the selector on The tfer case to get it in).

 

Anyone had this issue? Time for another gbox (this ones got 417000k on it)

 

All the selector linkages are good. Subsequently I've replaced both front drive shafts, ball joints and few other bits and pieces. 4-2wd selection is still not a guaramtee. This wouldn't matter so much but she's got a locked rear-diff so it means crab walking around the place when back on bitumen. :-)

 

Thoughts?
