ej22 crank pulley bolt removal tip

Featured Replies

Found this utube video on a forum somewhere, I forgot due to the amount of searches I've been doing lately.

It worked very well. I used the alternator belt, wrapped around the alternator and the crank pulley, then double it back as shown in the video and the picture I attached. Not as exciting as bumping the starter but it got the job done.

Nice trick! I'll have to give it a try next time.

Never used the starter bump. I put manuals in 5th gear and shove a pry bar through the opening at the top into the flex plate to keep it from rotating.

Threads like this are what keep me and my Subaru addiction going. Thank you so much for this, this just saved me hours of banging my head on the wall. After trying to use two 1/4 extensions like I saw in a video, I did this and had it off in less than a minute.
