Re-covering seats

Featured Replies

Hi all. I've got a 78 Brat that I'm playing around with. The seat covers and door cards are torn and brown, I'd like them to be not torn and black. I'm not finding any kits and my first call to a shop has me a little scared ($1800US).

Are there kits? If not, what's a reasonable price to pay to recover 2 seats and door cards? It its really going to cost more than the car I'll probably just change the seats and go DIY on the door panels.

Thanks,

Dennis

There are no kits for these it's either DIY or pay someone. To get the seats redone where i'm at $350-400 for the pair don't know on door cards. The door cards would be easy to do if you use black vinyl with adhesive glue.

Around here it's similar for seats, 200-300 per seat for a basic job, no fancy stitching or materials. Basically copying original. Door panels could be anywhere from $100-300 depending on how fancy you want to go. Not many option on door panels, unless you can find good used ones. For seats, you could find some good ones out of a newer car and retrofit them, saving a bunch of money.

Thanks! Those prices seem a lot more in line with what I had in mind. I'll take the pieces around and see if I can get a good price.
