dl ecu on gl spfi

Featured Replies

I have a spfi from an 88 gl and can get an ecu for an 89 dl, will they wirk together, spfi and my car are manual, ecu is auto with cruise, im going to fi in my ea81 hatch. Also the donor dl has a . Uncracked digi dash if anyone needs one (blue) i can get it when i grab the ecu. Thanks guys

I'd say give it a go, though others may have more specific experience. I put an ECU from a 91-92 Loyale in my 89 GL, both non-turbo SPFI, and it has worked flawlessly.

Im more curious the auto ecu on manual spfi wiring harness, im gonna grab both harnesses i guess, im going in the morning for the parts so... also the dl wagon has an uncracked digi dash, gray or blue or something, if anyone needs one thats crack free..

I think I remember reading that all ECUs from the L-series can be converted between manual or automatic, by simply tying a particular pin to ground. That shouldn't be an issue. As for the harness, I can't think of anything on the engine harness that is specific to either type of transmission. The harness for the transmission will be different though since you have different sensors. Let me know how it goes!

My concern is rooted in the write up i have saying the ecus and harness from 88 and 89 are different, but so far everything plugs in... maybe the dl was 88 manufacture and 89 my
