New Brat owner

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

My name is Dan and I am the proud owner of a "New" 1985 Brat. My dad had a Brat when I was a teenager and I loved the thing. I've always wanted one, but life was happening so it never panned out. So one day this past spring, I pull up to a stop light and beside me is a good looking Brat. I roll down the window of my truck and say "hey, nice Brat! Want to sell it?" Low and behold he says yes! I get his phone number and the rest is history.

It's in quite good shape. I'm not much of a mechanic, so I had the local independent Subaru shop go through it, replacing old rubber hoses etc. About the only thing that needs done now is there is a little rust on the lower body, just below the step on the left side. Also a few rust spots in the bed that need some work. One thing I'd like to do is find a couple of jumpseats. I haven't really looked through the forum yet, but if anyone has any ideas, let me know.

Thanks,

Dan

I can't seem to find the photos I took when I bought it. I'll add one when I get a chance.

That is nearly the same way I bought my first one in 89! Awesome job getting one! The seats turn up on ebay often enough.

Wow, your Brat looks great! Mine looks good, but not that good. Maybe some day I'll go through it like that. For now I'm just going to enjoy driving it.
