New 2013 Outback owner in TN says Hello to all

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, I just purchased a 2103 Outback with 78k about a month ago in a neighboring town from a Honda dealer in TN.

I am not quite used to the CVT and how it behaves.  On cold (30 F) mornings, it seems slow to change from first to second for about 2 miles.  Sometimes it seems like it is struggling and is often jerky.  Is this behavior normal?

Mechanic says the tranny fluid level is fine through the sight glass underneath, and the fluid does not appear to be discolorated or overheated.

Since I have a 90-day warranty on the drivetrain from the dealer, I'm wondering if this cold start behavior is normal, and if not, what is the probable cause and cure?

Could the battery have been disconnected and it’s in a relearning phase?

Possible, but the failure to change properly I noticed before the new battery was put in yesterday.  Will keep an eye on it though.

Any idea how the Subie dealer would address this issue (or non-issue)?
