July 1, 200421 yr Think of the ridges on a CV axle boot. Would the following shorten the life of the boot: One of the ridges is pushed down. It's like there is a vacuum inside the boot and when the ridge is pulled out into the proper position/shape, it sucks back down. Seems like the design of the boot requires that all the ridges should be the furthest from the axle as possible.
