Hi there! I'm trying to replace my left tail lamp (busted it while unloading a kayak), I'm wondering if it's possible to remove the socket and wire part # 84981FJ070 from the broken tail lamp in order to place it in the new tail lamp I bought? If so, how do you get it out of the old assembly? I'm not seeing a release tab or anything.  Thank you!!! I'm just a normal girl trying to save some money by doing a repair myself   

looks like it's a push in clip from the picture.  i'm not sure.

you have the new assembly already.  cut into the black area of the old assembly until it frees up the wiring.
