hitachi swap issues

Featured Replies

Picked up an 83 Brat, but had an engine swap from an earlier model.  Most vacuum and fuel lines were unhooked or plugged, so trying to figure out what goes where. Can't find the right carb for the truck year. It has a DCP 306-1 on it.  I have a DCZ 328 out back, can this be used or are there other options?

I switched to a Weber and haven't regretted it for a second. Lots of other people have done that too.  The only vacuum hoses that I use that I can think of are  1 to the AC control, 1 off of the carb to the distributor vacuum advance , and 1 to the power brake booster. All the others are capped off. I still use the PCV valve but I think some people cap that off too. Hope this helps.
