Ea81 GL dash into DL questions

I have an '84 4WD GL wagon parts car with a good instrument panel and very nice dash pad.  

I also have an '83DL 4WD wagon with a cooked and cracked dash and very faded instrument panel.

I would like to swap the Gl dash into the DL.  I searched the forums and found a few older posts, but I wonder if anyone has done it recently.

I know that the Japanese are (were) pretty good about using the same wiring harness for cars, with the plug ins there for options should they be installed.  

Besides the physical changing of the dash, what kind of problems am I looking at?  Is the wiring there, or are Gls and Dls totally different as far as wiring?  The harness in the donor GL is probably good, will it be necessary to change the entire harness?

Anyone done this and have any tips or tricks?
