2010 Legacy Key Issue

Got this text from my daughter;

After taking key out of car,
Car still says keys in ignition  and won't lock or turn the dome light off.
Also when car is in park stick clicks and shifts in it's parked position 

I am guessing there is a sensor or switch in the ignition lock?

So far, after several trys it has always worked and allowed the vehicle to be locked. Thoughts?

Not sure what would make the shifter 'click'?
