My Transmission shakes as it shifts into 4 gear at about 30 miles an hour.

 

Is there a historical problem with this year of subaru and the automatic transmission?

 

I am stationed in Germany and had the transmission serviced at 30,000 miles as recommended. However I do not think the Subaru dealership serviced it properly this is what caused the problem. I'm looking at a $5000 repair bill any suggestions?

If it were mine, I'd probably try a change of tranny fluid. There's a remote possibility that the wrong stuff was put in, or that it may have been topped up with something that's causing the frictional coefficient to be different from what specs call for. I've been using Mobil 1 with good results, although there may be something better available. Not sure.
