Hi: No manual or book with our 93 Legacy. Wondering what the "manual" button is for on the auto trans?

I had the same question when I first got my sube....

 

Its for when you want the car to stay in 3rd or 2nd....If you change to 3rd or 2nd with the manual button off it shifts up to 3rd from 2nd automatically once the revs get up high like it should but with it on it holds it in whatever gear you have it in (eg 3rd or 2nd)....

Thanks. Didn't know that if you started in 2 it would automatically jump to 3. Interesting.
