I just replaced my battery and I just noticed my odometer is on showing 74,000 miles but my car is off and the keys are not in the ignition. is this normal? of could this be draining my batter...help?

I noticed that in either '01 or '02, they added the temp gauge, and the clock and odometer stay on all the time. They don't pull much power at all, it isn't enough to kill the battery.
