I'm posting for a friend who has 1997 Legacy Automatic.

 

On the center console, near the shift lever, there is a switch labelled "AT Close".

 

Could someone kindly tell me what this switch is for plz.

My educated guess would be that it has something to do with the shift points. Probably decreses the lenght of time in any gear before shifting to the next.

That's a thought, tkx. I was thinking of "close" in the sense of shutting something, but more likely it's to make the ratios, or gear-changes closer.

 

Oh well, best way to find out is to try it I guess.
