clutch release lever breakage

Featured Replies

Greetings,

I have a '97 Impreza 5-speed w/ a cable actuated clutch. The clutch release lever has cracked and will not disengage the clutch. I would like to know if it can be replaced through the lever hole. I have the two small bearing clips removed but can't seem to get the lever to un-clip from the fulcrum point. Any ideas?

Thanks DD

have seen would require removal of either engine or transmission. Perhaps someone who has worked on your model will respond.

I am 98% sure the transmission should be taken out. The release fork is installed from inside the bell-housing during assembly.

Thanks for the quick response, this is a great resource.

I'm still determined, I'll let you know if I get it out.
