Mattrav Posted October 15, 2004 Share Posted October 15, 2004 I just got a 1980 4wd 2dr hatch 1600(?) 101,000 mi. I replaced the spark plugs and oil immediately. The car seems to knock and I cannot tell if its actually the lifters or if its in fact maybe an exhaust leak. I went ahead and pulled one of the plugs I put in and its already carbon fouled. What the hell can I do? I want to get this beast back into great working order so I can drive down to the Bay Area as much as I want to (Im in Tahoe about 3 hours away from Oakland/SF) without worrying too much.
