99 Outback Impreza clutch problems

Featured Replies

This is my first post - finding all of you out of frustration - our lovely zippy little Subaru needs it's THIRD new clutch - WHAT GIVES?! We are SO frustrated. We are both conscientious drivers who really believe that there is something WRONG here when we need this many clutches on a relatively new car. Anyone else out there have this problem or any ideas about what is going on and why this is happening? Really appreciate any and all thoughts before I spend another $1300.

Thanks!

there have been some upgrades. My first Forester clutch was done at about 88,000 miles and I have the new numbers now. Gets rid of the chattering too. If you can't find the numbers on the board for the new kit I can look them up at home for you.
