Guest chef tim
Now for some technical help....... I've got the torsion bar removed from the car, and I ground out where they bent the metal into the ring nut on the back side. Now I just need to know the best way to get that ring nut out. ANY and ALL hints or clue are greatly appriciated. Thanks, Tim
Guest chef tim
OK so the tool is really non-exsistant, and it maybe rather difficult to fabricate. If you have the tool and would be willing to let me borrow it I would pay shipping to and from and throw in some pop money too. This is by far the crazyest Suba-stunt yet. I have one more opption, but there not open till monday and thats not a gaureenty that thay will have it. Thanks, Tim
Guest chef tim
OK, Once again I owe Ed a big thank you, found the tool on expressautoparts.com. Give it a couple of days and I'll let everyone know how it turns out. Later, Tim
Guest Mike W
Ok I give. Where did you find the special wrench on expressautoparts.com? I've been told the lock ring can be backed out by tapping on it with a chisel. Did you already try that method? I plan on doing mine soon so I'm curious how your project goes. Thanks and good luck. Guest Mike W
Never mind I found it. I searched for "Subaru" and "tool". Here's the link: www.ontool.com/store/product/8379 Thanks Tim and Ed. Which Ed supplied the info?
Guest chef tim
Tried chisle, screw driver and punch...... Just seemed like it was chewing up the nut. I also used a 3" cut off tool to grind out the nut was "staked" in. I'll be happy to loan this tool to "trusted" board members for shipping if necessary. Guest edrach
Tim, thanks for finding that for me. Odd, it was on ebay two weeks ago and I was out bid at $34 plus shipping! Amazing, if I had thought to look, I wouldn't have bid that high. Now, I need to apply for another hat! Thanks, Mike.
