My 82 brat engine has a carter/weber single barrel stock carb, not the hitachi 2-barrel. I have yet to see another stock carb setup like this...but haven't seen all that many brats...

I don't think there's any real way to tell if you have a Brat motor or a wagon motor or a hatchback motor. I think it has to do internally with the cam which is what I've heard but I could be wrong. The Carter-Weber 1 barrel was used on all models from 82-84 but only some cars had it whereas some cars on the same line could have the Hitachi 2 barrel setup

('81 has hitachi.. and it works for me)

 

I don't think there is much difference.. does carfax bring that sort of thing up?.. if you've switched engines or not?.. not likely, but i dont know
