Can the mass air sensor on a 1995 legacy be repaired or must I replaced the entire assembly?

It's pretty much a non-serviceable part. As best I know, the dealer will not sell individual parts to it, they just sell the whole assembly.

 

I had good luck with getting MAF sensors from junkyards, in fact, I believe I'm running a junkyard MAF right now trouble-free and have been for 2 years now. You ought to try hunting for one that way first...
