instrument cluster not working! help! 96 Legacy outback

I have a customers car here that I installed an autostart in, I pulled the cluster to catch the e-brake wire. When I reassembled it and started the vehicle nothing on the cluster is working except the rear lights, the temp gauge, fuel gauge, and the air bag light. everything else is dead. I checked all the + and - lines going into it and they are all reading correctly. there isn't a single blown fuse in the entire car. Someone help me out here, what would cause this?!??!
