96 gt-b wagon white smoke while accelerating

Featured Replies

hi i have a 96 legacy gt wagon, got a new engine for it but now when accelerating foot hard down seems to have white smoke coming from exhaust, pings a little when reving in idle. also on cold mornings when it changes to 2nd a lot of hesitation / decelerating and then fixes it self. also smell of fuel from exhaust when reving in nuetral.

my thoughts fuel? but know **** all about cars

Usually white smoke indicates a stuffed turbo.

Overfuelling usually leaves a black residue near the exhaust area on the car,get it to a mechanic if its pinging,we just melted a piston from pinging,in the time it took for us to diagnose the pinging noise to melting the piston was all of 2 minutes.
