well sometimes the conditioner doesn't work

Featured Replies

Hello everyone happy new year! Well its just amazing the amount of headgasket issues i have seen at my dealership within the last 2 weeks with the conditioner recall, sometimes that stuff does not stop the leak.So far i have seen 2002

impreza outback sport,2000 outback,2001 subaru forester that were all leaking

and the conditioner has not stopped the leak.On the other hand we just had a

1999 legacy outback towed in with headgaskets leaking also.A girl came in with a 1999 legacy sus sedan with leaking headgaskets to, her coolant resevoir was full of oil, so we told her not to drive the car. this issue with headgaskets is getting way out of control i hope subaru cures this issue, i would be interested in hearing other peoples issues they have had with headgaskets.

coolant conditioner is for SOHC's

and stops EXTERNAL HG leaks only

the warranty implied is for EXTERNAL HG leaks only

not internal

not the DOHC

if these cars have oil in coolant, that's likely an internal leak

thus.... the conditioner has no effect.

i've personally seen it stop leaks.... *shrug*

it's not the be all cure all, but it does seem to help in some cases
