My speedo broke a little while ago so I have been driving without it. Today I went on a little trip and when I went to use the cruise it would not work. I am to assume it runs off a sensor in the speedo. Anybody know for sure?

And the two things happening together would seed odd otherwise. On a BMW its called the VSS signal and the speedo, cruise, computer, and even the stereo tap into it.

Have'nt had Subie problems with it yet myself.

your cruise won't work without the speedo working.

 

There's actually quite a bit of stuff that will behave weirdly without the speedo working.
