my soobie has no radio and i miss the jams. i was wondering if it was possible to install any old radio into it? i know i could go out and buy a new system, but i'd rather use that $$$ towards tires, or something. thanks baggyshorts

umm - unless we know something about it, we cannot give an answer. If it is an EA82 car then any junkyard radio out of an EA82 car will plug in (including a digital one from the GL-10 and turbo cars - have to run a wire for memory) It is VERY easy to replace them, just pull off the plastic surround and undo the screws (without dropping them!). Adding a cassette is very easy too.

Aftermarket is far more difficult, and I do not know what you do there.

i have an '86 soobie GL wagon, wire harness still there, just no radio. but what if there is no radio in any of the old junkyard soobies, can i put in a radio from a... lets say a chevy s10 pick up? thanks

as long as it fits, it theoretically should work as long as the corresponding wires are connected. must yards have shelves of decent aftermarket head units for cheap. however, wiring speakers is a whole different story.

the soob has a common ground so if you use a radio with 8 wires for the speaks, you will use the grounds for the left and right fronts, leave the rear grounds hang fom the radio. the haynes book has a good diagram for the electricals
