February 9, 200521 yr I have just changed rotors and pads on 95 legacy L and I noticed a lot of iron filings clinging to the abs sensors at the wheels. It appears to be touching the notched wheel that the sensor is supposed to monitor. Could this be confusing the transfer clutches , causing torque bind? I cleaned them (a little) and it seemed to improve the condition. However , the problem is not always the same severity. I could be reading more into it than there is. I would like to here from anyone with an idea one way or an other. Pete a very nubie.
February 9, 200521 yr The metal filings can give false abs signals and trigger the abs light. Sorry, I don't think it has anything to do with the transmission and torque bind. Do a search on torque bind and try the fluid replacement first. Good luck.

February 10, 200521 yr Well, the Trans ECU does use the ABS wheel speed sensors, so it might be related. Best to clean the sensor well.
February 11, 200521 yr Author Thanks for the reply I will clean all four of them and see what happens.
