abs/air bag

Featured Replies

my 94 leg has both abs an air bags.i wanted to just to stop them from working not so much remove them.i was told that it's illegal to do so,does anyone know if it's true.

as far as disconnecting both,can i just pull the fuses.(airbag i know about cuz mudrat reminded me to pull fuse before off-roading).can't stand the feeling abs does.:-\

you can just pull the fuses

just be sure to let your insurance company know

otherwise they can deny your claim in case of an accident.

abs = not that bad

you should consider the advantages in a real emergency situation

yah i figured just pulling the fuses.

(btw cool site you got there,i remeber going there bk when i had my 92 leg couple yrs ago)

It is not illegal for you to disconnect your own airbag--but like SubieGal said you do need to notify your insurance just to be on the safe side of a claim--but a dealership cannot do it legally. Pickup trucks, of course, came with the on/off switch for passenger air bags because there was back seat in which to put a kid.

I can understand why someone might not want the airbag, but why in the world do you want to get rid of ABS? That's the only great thing about newer cars. I've had really positive experiences with ABS in several different makes of cars.

the reason i want the abs disconnected is that i've been driving for 12 yrs without it an never had a problem when it came to emergency situations.....

guess i'm just SKILLED :brow: (or lucky)

plus i noticed a weird noise coming from front bracks when it kicks in(kinda a screech or sqeak) who knows maybe normal but it doesn't sound normal an i don't like it,makes me think brack pads worn out.
