RX dash cluster differences and TCU location, I need some help!

Featured Replies

ok so my RX was an automatic (4EAT) and I've converted it to a manual (FT4wd d/r 5-speed) BUT I have an issue with the dash clusters being different. The cluster I pulled out (4EAT) on the top has 2 connections, each of them being a 13 pin connector. The cluster I replaced it with (FT4wd) has 2 connectors on the top as well BUT one is a 13 pin connector and the other being a 7 pin connector, which is totally different size compared to the cluster I pulled out (4EAT). What does this connector hold? My guess is its for the "4wd" lights and the "LOW" light in the cluster. So the connector, where does it go to? Where does the connector on the 4EAT cluster go to? It totally screwed me up when I went to put everything together with the new cluster.....

Oh and another question, where is the TCU located on my RX?

dude you're hacking up a rare car, just wanted to get that out there

and the TCU should be under the dash somewhere

but I can't stand to drive an automatic. At least I'm fixing it up all nice and whatnot but I didn't want an automatic.... I guess I'll climb under the dash and try and find it...
