wrx to legacy suspension swap question

Featured Replies

Im interested in swaping my legacy's struts and springs with wrx parts, but I was curious about the stock ride height on the wrx. I live in the mountains and have rocks and snow to deal with, so I really don't want to have much less clearance than I already have(6.1"). thanks

What model & year legacy do you have? You should be able to use the struts without altering ride height, however if you use the springs, you will probably alter the ride height.

Also, you can not use the rear suspension setup from the WRX sedan, it has a different top mount configuration.

I was hoping that some one might be able to tell me what the stock clearence is on a wrx . I own a 94 legacy wagon ,the manual claims 6.1", if someone gets a chance to look, it might list it in the owners manual.I have read that you can use impreza stock rear upper strut mount on the legacy to make the rear wrx struts fit . thank you

Thanks, thats exactly what I needed to know, and it looks like the 94 legacy is actually lighter at 3040lbs than the lightest wrx model at 3085lbs. what a suprise! I appreciate the help.
