96 outback electrical problem

All,

I havve a 96 outback that runs great with one exception. About once every 2-3 weeks, it gets into a wierd electrical state. From a cold start, the ABS light comes on, the car is locked in park, fam blower motor, horn and brake lights stop working. Conditionlasts for 1-2 days. I have to manually ovveride the shift solenoid to drive the car home. The alternator has been changed. Goodyear could not find the problem. I'm reluctant to take it to the dealer without more information.
