Exhaust

Featured Replies

Ok, probably a really st00pid question, but I'll ask it anyway.

I have a 91 legacy, with a regular exhaust, 2" off the catalyst. I would like to put on a more tuned muffler, :D however I cannot find a tuned muffler that has a 2" inlet. PLENTY of 2.5" mufflers of course. :madder: Anyway, would it be ok just to install a 2.5" inlet muffler with an I/O fitting to match the 2" pipe off my catalyst, or should I just go to a muffler shop and have them install all new piping from the catalyst back? Let me know what you think!

if you dont have emissions regulations in your state, go with a custom job(no cat) tell the muffler shop its an "off-road" application

An interesting idea. :brow: My only concern would be the O^2 sensor on the cat. I'm getting a Cosmo Racing cone filter soon. Maybe I'll just go straight pipe like a friend did on her Blazer! :D Thanks!

on both my impreza (2001) and on my 99 Legacy

I had a custom 2.5" mid pipe made at an exhaust

tuner's shop....

this was cat-back - kept me emissions friendly

and it only cost me $100 installed.

nearly any muffler (back box) you desire

can be made to fit...

good luck to you
