Problem with Acceleration on 96 Legacy Outback

Hey everyone, I need the advice of the experts here. I have a 96 legacy outback and recently I noticed that during the initial acceleration, there seems to be a little rattling sound from the engine and it seems that not all the cyclinders are firing because I don't feel the power of the acceleration, then at around 3000 RPMS the power kicks in and I notice the power. I have a automatic transmission. I appreciate any help I can get. Thx in Advance.
