Oxygen Sensor screwing up power.

Featured Replies

I just recently had the tranny in my 97 OBS replaced, and along the way, the Mech. said "Your O2 sensor is broken, I'm-a gonna fix it." Fine I say, but the cars been running fine with it broken for what going on years now. If you think it'll make a difference, go for it.

Well, it HAS made a difference. For the worse. :banghead: After about 20 minutes of driving the car, I loose ALL power. Tourqe is gone. I can hardly maintain 55mph. The car idles VERY roughly, and at very low rpm's. In fact it has died on me at stop lights. This is getting frustrating.

It was suggested that I remove one of the cables to the battery so that the 'puter will reset itself, and maybe the car/sensor will run like it used to. Is there any validity to this? Or should I simply take the car back to the Mech. and have him 'fix' it again?

Try taking the battery cable off first this will reset the computer.
