What is the purpose of the Diff Lock fuse under the hood in my 95 Gt B spec ?

 

I have heard from some people that putting a fuse in here will make the car FWD only, from others I have heard that it will only split the power 50/50 between front and rear wheels.

 

Which is correct ?
