Hi,

First time poster and shade tree mech. Just had the driver side axel replaced. I still hear a whop whop sound above 35 or 40 and some vibration in the steering wheel above 60. I do get a thump when turning right and hard acceleration. I have search some post and have not been able to come up with an answer. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the board. Do you have Pirelli tires? (just a joke).

 

I would rotate from front to back to see if that makes a difference (out of round, bent rim, not torqued right).

Yes I have had the tires rotated. When the tire dealer did so so he said the bearing was rounded/whaloded out. It would need to be replaced which he did not due that type of work. That is the bearing where the axel goes into the tranny. It is a 93 Legacy 2 wheel drive. Need a new tranny or can this be replaced?
