zzzasy Posted April 26, 2005 Share Posted April 26, 2005 I'm fighting the dreaded check engine light. The code I'm getting is a misfire on cylinder #1. I have replaced the wires, plugs, and coolant temp sensor. The coil seems to pushing enough fire on one. I put some fuel injector cleaner in it and the light went off for about 2 or 3 weeks then it came back on. I have noticed that on warm days the light would go off. But, when I go out in the morning when its cold or cool, the light would come back on. I was comtemplating changing the injector, but if the light goes off when warm, it wouldn't be the injector would it? 99obw Posted April 26, 2005 Share Posted April 26, 2005 I always like to start by looking at the inexpensive stuff, because I'm cheap. If you had some change in the symptoms by using a fuel injector cleaner I would start with that route. I would seafoam the engine, change the oil, add 12 oz of Fuel Power to the fuel tank, clear the code(s), and fill it up with gas, in that order. Fuel Power: http://www.lubecontrol.com/fuel.htm I have yet to find an over the counter fuel injector cleaner that compares to FP.
