Transfer Case and Differential drain plugs

Featured Replies

OOps just posted this in OT, doh!

Anyway, the drain plugs are loosened for the rear diff and the transfer case with a 3/4" drive ratchet correct? Or do I need to buy something else.

I got a 99 OBW Auto

I called the dealer a while back with the same question. 1/2" it is.

Be sure you loosen the fill plug first. I've read many posts where the lube is drained and the fill plug is stuck. Bummer.

Excellent just figured I'd check.

Have you guys ever heard that flushing a tranny if it has XXX amount of miles on it can be bad??? A guy told me that today at work. I don't see how leaving old, contaminated fluid can better than replacing some of it with clean, new fluid.

I'll also make sure I pull the check plug first. Be good to see if the fluid level was right before I drained it anyway.
