Going from Synthetic to Regular oil - good idea?

In general, is it a bad idea to go from synthetic oil to regular mineral oil on a 40K mile engine? This is regarding a 2000 Altima, btw.

I don't believe your going to damage anything. However I think the long term benefits of better wear protection, better gas mileage, and cooler engine temps far outway the extra cost of synthetic fluids.
