'00 OBW: O2 Sensor, Bank 1 Sensor 2 - Front or Rear?

Featured Replies

Autozone says the CEL my wife's 2000 OBW is throwing is the "Bank 1 Sensor 2" O2 sensor. Common sense tells me that it ought to be the O2 sensor to the rear of the cat. Can anyone verify this?

Yes..Your Subaru, as most, have only 1 bank of Oxygen sensors..Bank 1. Sensor 1 in the front, usually right in the Y pipe Cat, Sensor 2 is the rear, usually by the tranny tailshaft. On Newer, some 2003 and up, the rear is in the backside of the same Y pipe Cat.

Thanks... now to find someone who carries 'em. AZ wants way too much ($350 for the front, $150 for the rear), and 1stsubaruparts.com carries only the front from what I saw ($88).

Gotta hunt some more...
