July 22, 200520 yr Hey there, Im up in anchorage ak and was looking to possibly buy a used (working) weber carb and entire intake system. I was feeling that the range of $250 would be sufficient if it was in good shape. Any feedback on what i should expect for a swap or weather or not this price is reasonable. thanks, neal
July 22, 200520 yr That should be enough to get you a decent rebuilt weber. Check the marketplace, you might be able to find a couple for sale. It depends on what kind of intake you have on your car, there's only a few different types. I couldn't get my weber on for the show cause I waited until the last minute to put it on and found that I had that crappy Carter/Weber one barrel on it and didn't have time to swap the whole intake. You should be all right though.

He has a plain rear tube bumper for 225, I just wanted to have a tire swing out thing so it's gonna take a little more time to build.
July 23, 200520 yr You will need to make sure you get an adapter for your intake. Chances are, if its an 85 wagon or sedan it has a EA82. And if its a Hatch or a Brat than it has a EA81. The Intakes on the two are different, but there are adapters out there for both of them. Look for Redline i think, they sell the carbs new and the adapters too. Its a common swap so it wont be hard to find one. The carb you are looking for is a Weber DGV 32/36 or DGEV 32/36. Might be able to find the carb off a production vehicle and take a crack at rebuilding it, here's a link i just found... these guys will do it for ya: http://www.racetep.com/webrebuild.html -Brian
July 23, 200520 yr Author So im only in anchorage until 8-15 until i fly back to seattle and get into by hurt box GL and try to limp it back to arizona. I found this dead or alive subaru shop / dealer (in anchorage) and apparently they can get me what i need. If the weber isn't in good order i think im gust going to forget about it entirely mainly due to the fact that i have such little free time away from school to do fun things like that. Much appreciated for the beta all around. neal
