Sept. 18 '05 Tellico OHV Area, Way West NC

Featured Replies

Meeting in Murphy, NC and driving to the Tellico OHV area on September 18, 2005. Most liklely meeting place (will let you know, after Aug., 6) Macca's, AKA McDonalds, on Hwy. 64 at 11:30-noon. This is the first official organized US trip for www.offroadsubarus.com a bunch of Aussies (come on over and join the small amount of US'ers) we've got to show 'em we can do it too.:burnout:

As the sign says, Please, no lowered vehicles. Stock GL/DLs, Foresters, Outbacks should be fine, we will be driving 'trails' 1 and a small part of 5, see: http://www.tellico4x4.com/catalog/tellico_trails.php for trail info and directions. There is a $10 per vehicle user fee for entering the park. Little to no off-road driving experience is required, and for those with more experience/modded vehicles, show us what you've got, and feel free to peel off from the main pack. This is a family oriented trip, no rules or regulations will be broken, the pace will be easy and lots of stops and some hiking are to be expected. We'll have a 'tail-gate' dinner (BYO) at a water crossing on trail 5.

Some more pics of Tellico on this thread; http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=36616

Hope y'all can make it, cheers,:burnout:

Meeting Sept. 18 '05 between 11:30-12:00 at MickyD's on Highway 64 at the intersection of Hiawasse St. in Murphy NC.

User fee is now only $5. About 2 1/2 hours from Asheville NC and Atlanta GA.

I've been out there, but in my Jeep. I would go, but the WRX Wagon is NOT & my Jeep is not running. So have fun & take pictures because not too many Subarus are seen out there.

Have you been over to Uwharrie?

I'd love to have a go out there in a Jeep:cool:, if your WRX isn't lowered it would probably be OK but there might be some scraping.

Haven't been to Uwaharrie.........Yet!!! It is on my list.

I won't take the chance. I try to keep it on roads like 'The Dragon' & the occasional gravel road. Post up when you are headed to Uwharrie, I want to see you run up 'Daniel'.

Wish I could make it to Telico. I live just a few miles from Uwharrie. Fun stuff back there, alot of it to rough for a stock loyale, but still fun.

Is there enough that can be done in a stock Subie (Forester) to make it a worth while trip from Asheville???

We left Jason's black STi converted/lowered Forester XT behind in the trail head lot, and he rode with me and my boy, Hayden.
