93 Engine into 94 Legacy?

Featured Replies

The engine in my 94 Legacy went bye-bye, so I need to put in another engine. I've heard that a 93 will fit, but wanted to check with others to see about any problems that may arise, things that will need to be changed, etc. I don't want a decent project to turn into a nightmare.

Here are the specs for my Legacy.

94 Legacy L (front wheel drive)

2.2 Liter

Non-turbo

TIA,

Jonathan

They should be absolutely identical. At worst, you might have to swap the intake manifold from your engine onto the new one in order to keep all the FI plug-ins the same, but there should be no difference.
