Guest SUBARULOVERBRAD
I have a couple of pics of my subaru i am working on. I orginally had pk's 3 inch body lift, I have removed it from the rear sub assembly and replaced it with an 6 inch set of blocks. up front, i still have PK's 3 inch lift, but have added my own built 4.5 inch strut spacers and built a control arm relocation bracket. of course I wouldnt be able to do this on a subaru unless i have added a divorsed transfer case, which I have. I now have my lsd rear up front, and my exper. locker in rear. should be testing my roo this weekend (have a 86 toyota celica gt<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/embarassed.gif ALT=":o"> ) to see if it car drive across my junk car:evil: . I have a set of 31 10.5 15's on it, but think i may go 33 or bigger. transfer case addon was easier than i had thought it would be. things left to do; put my brake lines(longer) on, if test suscful, finish tunnel/floorboard. what do you all think about my progress, questions? Sorry for length of message. pics; f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/bc...yahoo.com/
Guest SOOBME
It's looking GOOD ( I would like to see some close ups of the front dif mount). What are U using for front axles? (ie, joints, shafts, how U put them together ect.) What transfer case did U use?

Guest SUBARULOVERBRAD
the diff is mounted directly with a couple of spacers to the front crossmember by drilling 2, 1/2 inch holes, front of diff, cut the rubber mount from the diff mounting bracket used the rest of the mount and welded it to the trany crossmember and also drilled it for a saftey bolt incase weld failed. use the factory front axles. on a side note, i installed the transfercase befor this second lift and due to the diff sitting lower the front axles would pull out of the inner joint at full suspension compression. that is why i decided to raise it more....oh yeah, i also extended the motor mounts so the engine would sit in the normal place(lifted it the same height as pk's lift) the transfer case is an t100l i think (its out of an 1982 datsun 4wd truck.) i chose this one because it already has three driveshafts connected to it,2 of which already are the right size(except for the length) of our subaru flanges. Guest SUBARULOVERBRAD
hey lumpy, you car did inspire the transfercase idea, i have been trying to get ahold of you, i love your car and hope mine turns out just as good. the pic of your car helped me to really decide to lift my roo, but found it unuseful in the pulling department. needed more gears, i owe you a hugh gratude of thanks for your inspration. can you tell me any problems you have had?and i am thinking in adding another gear reduction to the transfer-case. i wanted to know how you mounted the diff, sounds like i may have hit the nail on the head. What i have noticed about your car is the front crosmember looks lower, and your diff is slightly exposed, have you busted your diff case yet? that is one thing that had worryed me at first untill i decided to make a bracket to relocate my control arms, now only a fraction of diff is lower than the rest of the front end. Guest jon61484
...that...is...awesome! not to say Lumpy's isn't, their both great.
Guest lumpycam
you'll love the low gears they make up for the tall tires.I would find some 4.44:1 gears from a 96 or newer with 2.5 and auto. The Lsd units will fit with longer ring gear bolts.I haven't even hit my front diff yet, so no I haven't had a problem there.I am planning some more mods to front suspension later on.Maybe ea82 stuff for bigger brakes and longer control arms to correct tire camber.I am thinking ea82 crossmember with power steering also. Of course now that I went mud racing I want more power! Looks like your on your way to having as awesome suby.
Guest SUBARULOVERBRAD
I could eaisly modify my lift to fix most camber problems, but as of right now, it is at least as good or better than factory. glad to here you still run it. wish there were more like ours and maybe some more people with offroad Subarus near me to wheel with. is your roo still road legal? Guest Adam N.D.J.
Hey Lumpy, time for a 2.7? Hehe. Seeing as how I too am working with your idea's, I could let you barrow mine. But seriously, if you decide to go with a newer motor and need help with the fuel injection, I'll be glad to help. Catch ya Laters.
Guest lumpycam
Yes, My car is still road legal officer! I do drive mine as a daily driver.I just drove across state to wcss5 and am driving it over to Oregon coast this weekend.Sure it's load and vibrates a little but the looks I get make up for any discomfort.I am really pleased with the ability to hill climb or mud bog it and then be able to cruise on highway for any distance. Adam I might have to take you up on your offer. The little ea81 is great for low speeds but lackes power to really have fun. I guess I spoiled myself with the 2.8 chevy in there.I been keeping my eye out for a 2.7 but not too many in this area.I have been working on a 3.6 but that's a secret. Guest Adam N.D.J.
Actually John doesn't live too far away from us, only about 2 hours away. I know how to get to his place already. So when is this "Monster Garaging" going to be going on? I would love to lend a hand or two to the "BEAST". And I've already been privvy to a few of the secrets going into it. That, and I need to get out of the valley for a little while. Catch ya Laters.
