I have a 2001 LL Bean Outback Wagon. Is it possible to adjust its tuning so that it has better acceleration at low speeds, ie., from a stop or onto the highway?

 

When I step on it, there is a slight delay. I want instant g-forces!

 

I am comparing it to a 6-cyl Chevy Malibu (2005) I recently rented. It was quite a performer, with no delay in pickup. However, I think the Subaru 6-cyl has more horses (granted, the Chevy is lighter).

Without an additional piggy back computer, you can't tune it.

 

The delay you're talking about, do you think it's due to bogging, or is it a delay in the electronic throttle?
