I have a 92' Subarus Loyale Sedan. My check Engine Light doesnt work (never comes on even when you start the ignition) hasnt come on in years, but I've had no worries due to the reliability of such a dependable machine.....until I moved to CA and they require it to come on when the ignition turns on in order to pass the SMOG test.

 

I've checked the light bulb and it works. Any suggestions out there?

i wired my check engine light to my low brake fluid light so it would come on then go out when the engine was started, the light was always on if i didnt do something, and tape over the bulb dose not pass smog. car ran awesome and blew close to 0 out the pipe. so smog wasn't a problem.
