I have a 95 Legacy Wagon, AWD, Manual, 2.2L, 185,000 miles. Lately I've noticed that if I slow down by downshifting (i.e coasting down in 2nd gear), when I finally put the clutch in and then stop the RPM's drop to around 250. Once, on a steep downhill, it did actually stall. Any ideas?

check the idle air controller, and the hose that connects it to the air intake. good place to start looking...
